The "Wirral Academy of Performing Arts" is Wirral's premier Performing Arts School for 3 to 18 year olds and was founded in 1996 to fulfil the needs of many talented local young performers who wanted to enjoy and benefit from expert extra curriculum training in the Performing Arts of Song, Drama & Dance.

Since our foundation, WAPA has helped many students to gain exceptional grades in GCSE, A level and acting examinations with the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA), in addition to winning places to train full time at Accredited Drama Schools, for which they have also been awarded full discretionary awards.
Other students have undertaken a career within the entertainment industry.

However, not all WAPA students join just to pass exams, or because they want to begin a professional career in the theatre, many join specifically to develop self confidence, uncover previously hidden talents and make valuable new friendships within a fun, challenging and dynamic environment.

At WAPA, we believe that the Performing Arts, possess truly unique qualities for enhancing personal development. Not only do they allow young people to develop imagination, confidence, authentic communication skills and a positive attitude, but our students really buzz from the experience.
